Thanks to everyone who provided feedback, here is a summary of the comments and a response.

Summary:

  • Everyone seems to be enjoying the sessions overall and are happy with the format of singing with the CDs. There were a few comments about how long it takes to get going and hard to get the CD player to work some weeks.
  • The variety seems fine, there was a definite favourite song – Any Dream Will Do – and Dancing Queen, Three Little Birds and O Holy Night were also mentioned.
  • We are trying to introduce some songs that people haven’t heard before so that we can learn them, people perhaps feel that we should spend more time to learn these rather than just singing through a couple of times. There was also a willingness to learn some harmonies.
  • The majority felt that the start time (6.30pm) and the cost (currently £2) was fine, and everyone willing to pay £2.50 to ensue the hall hire was covered and build up a little ‘kitty’. There was some feedback to ask whether the session could be longer.
  • There was a suggestion for some Rogers & Hammerstein songs, and an offer to bring in CDs if we had a theme.

Response:

  • We will definitely try to start promptly and do the warm up quickly so that we can start singing as soon as possible.
  • Janet has a new CD player so there should not be any issues with this going forward!
  • We do need to be more organised and ensure that we have CDs and words available for each session.
  • • We may divide the session so that we spend a bit longer on one song per month to learn it better, and maybe learn some harmonies, and then spend the rest of the time singing through some other songs.
  • The date and time appear to work so we will keep it the same for the time being.
  • Let’s discuss the fee at the next session.
