A day of (relative) rest as I didn’t have to be anywhere until 5pm. Had a lay-in and reflected on the past week. For all the things that went well, I started to fixate on a rather fractious conversation with a colleague that unsettled me a bit and made me doubt myself. To take my mind off things I pottered around and then got in the mood for a spring clean.
I generally find other things to do when it comes to housework, the only item that ever gets ironed is the table cloth on the rare occasion I have dinner guests! Saying that, hoovering has become more of a pleasurable activity since I recently bought myself a cordless upright vacuum cleaner. It’s a God-send, so quick and easy to whizz round (in Freddie Mercury style) and takes a fraction of the time it used to 😊
Hamish decided he’d better get out the way and I found him lying on the radiator in the dining room. It made me laugh as I’ve never seen him there before, and I marvelled at this balancing act as the depth of it is just shy of 10cm! Hoovering done I cleaned the kitchen and decided to go through my tins and jars cupboard and discovered one with a best before date of 2013! There were some others from 2018, 2020 and 2022… I will probably use these ones, if my daily thoughts come to a halt you’ll know why!
I won’t continue to bore you with all my domestic tasks but suffice to say all my cleaning, tidying and sorting allowed me to think through my work situation and come up with a plan of how to deal with it next week. The expression “Tidy house, tidy mind” is very true, next time you have a problem to mull over my advice is to do some housework!
